Good To Go has all the fixin’s fer a hootin’, hollerin’ down home vegan campfire dinner! If you can’t make it down to our place, check out the way we do it up and make yer own.

We’ve got Tofurky hot dogs that’ll hold their own to any other wienie roasting on the fire. Wrap it up in an organic hot dog bun, like Rudi’s, and smother it with organic pickle relish from Cascadian Farm and Natural Value organic condiments, or maybe some Amy’s organic vegetarian chili.

A big organic salad is a must for any barbeque. Get some local produce from your Farmer’s Market…don’t have a Farmer’s Market? Poor you. Anyway, chop it up and pile it high on your plate. Pour Organicville Ranch Dressing on the top and dig in.

Now, for s’mores…Sweet and Sara’s vegan marshmallows, both vanilla and coconut, on a stick, in the fire, can you smell the burning sugar? Take that melting goo and slap it on a Health Valley original amaranth graham cracker along with a couple of smooth brown tiles from a bar of Terra Nostra rice milk chocolate. Bite. Send me a picture of your smiling face.

Find a campsite at Heart o’ the Hills Campground in Olympic National Park and git that fire goin’!

There is much speculation about whether Oprah, the popular and highly influential talk show host, will keep eating a vegan diet after her 21-day cleanse. I used to be a big fan of hers, but I don’t have television now so haven’t seen her in years. She’s a true animal lover, so my bet is on her, that she will find this a worthy cause to champion. Go for it, Oprah!

Our non-vegan customers (that would be most of our customers) tend to understand why vegans choose not to eat meat, eggs and dairy. The understanding STOPS when the subject comes around to honey. What?! Honey is vegan, they say. It doesn’t come from an animal. OK, I’m not gonna give a biology lesson or talk about beekeeping…I don’t know much. What I do know is that, by definition, honey is an animal (insects are animals) product. Bees consume nectar and regurgitate it for members of their hive. Bee barf is not vegan. For a more eloquent explanation of why honey is not vegan, check out our link Is Honey Vegan?
